Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel & Spa is frequently praised for its spacious rooms that provide everything needed for a comfortable stay, with some rooms even offering scenic lake views. Guests often enjoy the excellent leisure center, particularly the easily accessible pool, sauna, and steam room, and find the grounds impeccable for outdoor relaxation, with checkers available. While the location provides a beautiful and tranquil setting for hikes in the Trossachs, some guests have noted occasional issues with the breakfast setup or found the hotel a bit out of the way depending on their planned activities, with a lovely cafe in the town being an alternative.

The pool area includes a sauna and a steam room, and I found them easy to get to. My room was spacious, it had everything I needed. I really liked this.
The sound proofing was not good. I could clearly hear dog noises form the room above from late at night to the early morning. I think the hotel is understaffed, it was hard to get breakfast at the time I wanted and service was very slow. This could be better.

the room was lovely. the bed was very comfortable.
The barman said an inappropriate word when someone ordered drinks. I was disappointed. there were also very few soft drinks available, a simple shop trip could have resolved that issue.
